Imagine an advisor hoping she will meet a potential partner at a conference or through a wholesaler visiting her office. It is hit or miss: mostly miss. Now imagine the efficiency of a web based matching platform where the power is in the hands of the advisor as she reviews the profiles of her populated Match List based on proprietary matching algorithms. The newly released Cerulli Associates report projects that the advisor industry will contract by more than 25,000 advisors over the next four years. They expect the wirehouse channel to contract and the RIA and dually registered channels to grow. Cerulli reports that there are 32,000 fewer advisors now versus 2005. They attribute the reduction in large part to retirement without sufficient replacement of new advisors.   Financial Planning Magazine wrote a current article on the report.
