Summary: Over the last decade, the total number of state-registered RIA firms has not declined in a single year (specifically, firms with less than $100 million in regulatory assets under management register with the relevant states). At the end of 2008, there were approximately 13,800 firms. That number soared to more than 17,500 firms by early 2018.

Summary: A new year has begun and most of us have the same goals: Add new clients. Make more money. Become more efficient. But these are not the same as resolutions. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, a resolution is "a firm decision to do or not do something." To reach your goals, specific resolutions must be accomplished. With that in mind, I'd like to suggest that each of you commit to at least one resolution for 2019.
